first tailgate of the season

Anthony's first tailgate.  He had a very concerned look on his face the whole time.  Probably because he feared the outcome of the game - another Purdue loss.

Win or Lose, we still have fun hanging out with family and friends and watching the marching band perform!

 There was a point when I was pregnant with Eli and my dad had to undergo a serious neck surgery to remove a life threatening tumor.  I was so broken having to think of the possibility of losing my dad, and how badly I wanted him to meet his second grandson on the way.  

Life is so unpredictable and I thank God every chance I get that my dad is alive and doing well and that he is able to have these sweet moments with his grandkids.

after Eli was done eating he wanted to wander... all over the place.  He was "stomping" on all the "big circles" and trying to check out the food selection at all the other tailgates...

 Anthony fell asleep just as the storm was rolling in... and that was our cue to hit the road!

when we got home a package had arrived with the outfits I ordered Eli and Anthony for Doug and Kiki's wedding! Anthony was the only one willing to let me play dress up - lol!  

How cute are these suspender pants? Don't worry he won't be wearing these with a jersey at the wedding...

Eli kept trying to climb on Anthony, and that was the end of that!

all in all a great saturday morning! Now time to go get ready for work

It has been a while!

Anthony's newborn days reminded me that I used to post monthly updates of Eli when he was a baby... and right after Eli's 11 months pics I never posted again... Can you tell I love to start projects and move on to something else quickly? Round 2 hear we go! Hopefully I can keep up with a few posts every month or so :)  

Backtracking to June 3rd, 2016 when our baby Anthony arrived!

It is official....I am totally outnumbered in the house... but I love it!

Anthony, much like his brother, arrived a few days late.  The morning of I "felt different" and started to have some slightly painful contractions...but nothing like I remembered with Eli.  That afternoon I had a doctor's appointment scheduled at 1pm and I had planned to drive myself there.  That was until about half way though our lunch I started feeling more and more pain.  I told Jon..

This could be it!

and that he should probably come with me to the doctors appointment just in case.  We enjoyed the last few bites of our baker's peak chicken salad sandwiches and loaded up the car with all our bags, dropped Eli off at Krista's house so he could nap, and headed to Lafayette for the appointment. By 1:30 we were with the nurse who quickly examined me and said I was 7cm dilated and we better head over to hospital right away.

We were SHOCKED.  How could I seriously be that far along? I'm glad we had that appointment because otherwise I may have had Anthony right on our living room floor.  The pain just was not as strong as I remembered with Eli.  That is, until it WAS that painful.  After we got checked in, the pain intensified quickly.  After the epidural kicked in all was back to normal and I felt great.  That was also when the nurse told me I BARELY made it to the hospital in enough time for the epidural.. In some cases women just have to go without it. Yikes... if I had not of had that doctor's appointment I most definitely would have missed my opportunity to get an epidural...

A few hours later Dr. Towels walked in and said "So. are you ready to have a baby?" She broke my water and said in just a mater of hours we would be ready to go!  I was still in shock that all of this was happening so quickly.  It was right around 5 when she broke the water and Anthony was born at 6:57pm after only a few minutes of pushing.  Dr. Towels said it was of the most memorable births she has ever done, and I truly believe that.  We can thank Jon for his ability to make me laugh (even when giving birth lol!) I honestly can not remember what he was saying to bring on the laughter, but I am  glad he did.  We had "fun" giving birth to Anthony and I never thought in a million years thats how I would describe his birth story!

Having a second child brings up a whole list of uncertainty regarding how the older child will respond to the baby, and all the new changes that are about to come at home.  Since Anthony was born in the evening, we decided it would be best for Eli to wait and come to the hospital on Saturday morning so he could get to bed at his normal bedtime.  We knew he was having so much fun with his cousins, and that waiting until morning would really be best for everyone.

Saturday morning arrived and I could not wait for Eli to get to the hospital and meet his new baby brother.  We had prepared a gift for Eli from Anthony which included some new cars, a bolt book, and a few puzzles.  Eli could not wait to show Anthony how cars go "zoom zoom"

Eli has been an awesome big brother.  He is so loving and affectionate towards the baby.  Eli is always wanting to hold the baby's hand, touch his "blond hair", touch his nose and show him different toys around the house.  My heart is so full when I look at these two boys together.  

The thankfulness I feel that Jon and I get to be their parents and love them forever is overwhelming!
